April 28, 2008 -- In a special section of the Cleveland Plain Dealer published April 24th, sports reporters paid tribute to Paula Powers, Elyria Athletic Department Administrative Assistant, in feature story honoring AD secretaries.
During the interview, Paula was asked to describe her job, highlighting the best (and worst) parts, along with her favorite memories. When asked about Paula's performance, Athletic Director Jerry Chizmar said, "Paula is very organized. It's like having two athletic directors. She's familiar with the sasonal sports cycles, events and banquets, and she works well under pressure.
"It's my first year as Elyria's AD, and I can tell just by looking at Paula whether I'm doing something the right way or the wrong way. She's been a tremendous help."
