March 12, 2010 -- The Athletic Departments of both Elyria and Elyria Catholic High Schools are proud to announce a charity basketball game between the Elyria Fire Department and the Elyria Police Department on Friday, April 30, 2010.

The game will be played in the Elyria Catholic High School Coliseum at 7:00 p.m. All proceeds from the game will benefit the Elyria Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund, as well as the Elyria High and Elyria Catholic Athletic Departments.

Tickets for the event will be sold in the Athletic Departments of both high schools, as well as at the Elyria Fire and Police Departments. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students.

This evening will also highlight the 2010 Elyria Sports Hall of Fame class that will be inducted on May 1st, 2010, at the LCCC Spitzer Conference Center. This year’s class includes Rob Woolbright (Track/Basketball Elyria West-Lincoln University), Walter Keith (Wrestling EHS), Keith Rybarczyk (FB/Baseball Elyria Catholic-Mount Union), Amy Filiaggi (Volleyball/Track EHS-Kent State), Barry Diedrich (FB Elyria Catholic) and the 1992 Elyria West Baseball Team.

This is the first of many activities to highlight and bring attention to the inaugural football game between Elyria and Elyria Catholic in September at Ely Stadium.
