March 17, 2010 -- The Elyria Schools Administration Building, 42101 Griswold Road, is serving as a drop-off point for thank you cards to police officers attending funeral services for Elyria Police Officer James Kerstetter on March 20, 2010.

The Chronicle Telegram is sponsoring the card drive and will also accept cards at the Chronicle Telegram main headquarters on East Avenue. Cards must be dropped off at either site by March 19, 3p.m.

Community members wishing to participate are encouraged to personalize a card with a hand-written message of thanks to all police officers for their service to their communities. The cards will be distributed on Saturday, March 20, to the thousands of police officers visiting Elyria and participating in funeral services for Officer Kerstetter.
