August 12, 2010 -- The Elyria High School Pioneer Marching Band will perform at The Ohio State University Invitational on October 16th in Ohio Stadium.

More than 80 bands from several different states applied, and Elyria was one band accepted to perform.

"It has been through our hard work and dedication to our program that helped us secure this invitation," says John Shepka, EHSPMB director. The stadium at Ohio State is the 6th largest stadium in the world and the largest in Ohio.

"This is possibly the biggest show Elyria High School Band will ever perform in. The students and of course the directors are extremely excited to have been given this honor and set the goals higher so that we make Elyria proud when we travel to Columbus this fall."
