Today is February 1st day of February and the first day of black history month. Each day we will feature one person who has had an impact on our society. Today is Garret Morgan. He lived in the Cleveland area and he invented the traffic light and the safety hood for fire fighters. So when you stop at a traffic light today think of Garret Morgan. Freshman Class As Valentine's Day approaches it's time to start thinking about that special someone. Maybe it’s your boyfriend or girlfriend, a crush, or just a friend that’s been on your mind. Confused on what to get them? You're in luck! The Freshman Class will be selling red and white carnations for 1 dollar in the student cafeteria February 6-10 during lunch periods. Flowers will be delivered on Valentine's Day in all homerooms. You must know your "sweetheart's" homeroom when you purchase your flower. Senior Class Seniors, there will be a Senior Class meeting on Friday, February 3rd during 3rd period in the PAC. Seniors will report to the PAC directly after Homeroom on Friday. Remember no food or drinks into the PAC! Senior Class Seniors interested in being a part of planning your prom? There will be a Prom Committee meeting tomorrow after school in room 201. Show up to discuss and plan your 2012 Prom! Attention chess club members, come pick up your picture passes today after school. Wrestling A very special congratulations to our Pioneer wrestlers! The wrestlers are champs by going undefeated in dual meets in the NOC Valley Division during the 2012 season. There will be a match this weekend at Garfield Heights. Senior Night was this past weekend as the new gymnasium was host to our first wrestling match. WEHS reporter and Pioneer wrestler has more. Winter Formal Winter formal tickets will be sold out by this Friday, so if you want to attend please don’t wait to get your tickets get them ASAP. Also Attention chess club members, come pick up your picture passes today after school. Drama Club Attention: Drama Club and Thespian members there will be a meeting in room 125 today after school discussing the Brothers Grimm, Fundraising, and State Thespian Conference. Whoever plans on attending State Thespian Conference, especially cast and crew of the bad seed, Your paperwork and deposit are due Friday!!! Forms can be picked up in room 125 if you do not already have one. C.A.D. Are you looking for a one semester elective class to fill in your schedule for next year? How about learning to draw on a computer? EHS offers four semesters of Computer Aided Drafting, where you can learn to draw Engineering type drawings, Architecture, Blue Prints and Designs of your own. Learn to draw in 3D and turn your object to see it from all sides. Build models of the things you design. See your counselor to sign up for Computer Aided Drafting. NHS Also, NHS members, if you are interested in volunteering at Franklin’s family night on February 8th from 5:00-7:30, please see Mrs. Dargo in room 303W ASAP. Math Mania interest forms are also available in room 303W, Leo Club The Elyria LEO Club is hosting a Baby Item Drive for our very own EHS GRADS program. GRADS is an in-school program for pregnant teens and/or young parents. Needed items include diapers, wipes, baby shampoo & conditioner, baby lotion. Items can be brought to room 216 or given to any LEO Club member to pass on. JVS Attention lunch room sophomores who wish to do their JVS application online in school. Counselors from LCJVS will be in the Media Center during lunch periods this Thursday and Friday.
