Principals Message
Welcome to the Elyria High School website. We are very excited about the 2008-2009 school year. Teachers have the opportunity to keep you informed on happenings in the classroom. We have the advantage of being a large high school that can offer many Advanced Placement, Post Secondary Option, and Honors classes. Email addresses are provided to increase communications with parents, students and community members. If you have email, please don’t hesitate to contact teachers and administrators.
Four school teams of approximately 400 students and 1 school team with approximately 250 students were created last year. Each student will remain on that team working with the same counselor, administrator and secretary for four years. Please be aware of your child’s team number and call that team office to report student absence. Every attempt will be made to keep siblings on the same team. We will call your home and/or place of employment if your child is absent and a parent has not called and notified the appropriate team office. By making a “big place small”, we will provide daily information regarding attendance and student performance. We know that by increasing communications we can work together to provide the best opportunities for your child.
Elyria High School is working hard to improve our state rating to "Excellent."
