Welcome Message

Welcome to the Room 11 at McKinley! My name is Brandi Munro and I will be your teacher this year. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family. This school year, we are going to have a great learning adventure together!!!

This year is off to a great start. Thank you for all of your support this year. Please be sure to watch your child's folder each night. The holiday season is upon us and there are several special events (holiday program, class party, Polar Express day, etc.) that will be occurring before our holiday break. More information about these events will be coming home in your child's folder.

ABCya -- ABCya.com is the leader in free educational kids computer games and activities for elementary students to learn on the web. All children's educational computer activities were created or approved by certified school teachers. All educational games are free and are modeled from primary grade lessons and enhanced to provide an interactive way for children to learn. Grade level lessons incorporate areas such as math and language arts while introducing basic computer skills. Many of the kindergarten and first grade activities are equipped with sound to enhance understanding.

Color Songs -- At the beginning of the school year we spend a lot of time learning how to spell the color words through song. Here are the words to each of the color songs.

Starfall -- This is a great website for all kindergartners. It allows students to work with letters, words, read stories and play games.

Seussville -- This is the official Dr. Seuss website. You can read books and play games.

National Geographic for Kids -- This is a great kid friendly site for learning with animals and science.
