June 30, 2011 -- 1. At the conclusion of the student's 7th grade school year, the student must have a "B" or higher in the FINAL grade column for all courses.
2. The student cannot receive a "D" or an "F" during any grading period.
3. At the conclusion of the 3rd quarter of 8th grade, eligible candidates must have received and "A" or "B" in all courses during the first 3 quarters of 8th grade.
4. The student must complete an application, which will be given to qualified students at the end of April, then return it to the office by the time designated in the qualification letter.
NO late applications will be accepted.

Northwood's Scholastic "N" award was modeled after Elyria High's Scholastic "E" award and the National Honor Society award. While academic criteria must be met in order to be eligible for the award, recipients will fill in an application listing 7th and 8th grade school related activities, leadership/honors/awards, and community service. The form for recording community service hours is attached below. 7th graders are encouraged to use the form for their current year community service also.
