Home -> Northwood Middle School -> Principals Message
Greetings Northwood Pioneers and Families,
It is with great enthusiasm that I greet you. As the summer quickly comes to a screeching halt, I would like to formally welcome all of the new and old Northwood Pioneers to the 2009-2010 school year.
As many of you may already know, Northwood will be a middle school beginning this fall and operate under the premise of the middle school model. A significant number of our teachers attended the Ohio Middle School conference last winter and are excited to implement many of the research based strategies that work for students "in the middle".
During the month of August, all 6th and 7th grade students should plan to join us on the 29th for our mini camp orientation. Students should have received information regarding this event and should look forward to further correspondence by mail. And, most importantly, we are excited to receive all students on the first day of school- August 31st.
Furthermore, I would like to formally welcome our new assistant principal, Mrs. Theresa Lengel. As a former Language Arts teacher at Northwood, she will be quite an addition to our administrative team. Moreover, I would also like to welcome a host of teachers who will joining Northwood to accommodate our growing population to include sixth grade.
Lastly, I would like to encourage all students and parents to prepare for a great school year. The Northwood staff is excited at the prospects of greatness with all students as it relates to their social, emotional and academic growth. With that being the case, we want all students to come to Northwood excited about academic achievement and ambitious about finding their place here at our school.
Remember- our focus is academic achievement for all students!
With fondness-
Jomill N. Wiley, Principal
