I would like to welcome students and parents/guardians to Westwood Junior High School. I am Mrs. Ramona Mendak and I am the new principal at Westwood. I have been a teacher in Elyria from 1987 to 2005. I became an assistant principal in 2005 at Westwood. Now, I have a new role and a new opportunity to lead Westwood students to academic success.
Westwood's academic programs are team oriented. This allows four core teachers and an inclusion teacher to work together with the team of students and parents to reach each student's potential. The staff at Westwood is very dedicated and wants to see every student succeed.
We encourage parents and students to become involved in our school. Students have many programs and clubs that they can join, and parents can join our Partners for Westwood group. We want everyone to feel welcomed when you walk through the front door.
I invite you to be part of the Westwood community and share in all the wonderful accomplishments. I look forward to meeting student and parents, and I am available if you need to speak with me. Continue to visit the website for updated information of events happening throughout the school year.
