Elyria Athletics announced Jordan Connell as the next Varsity Head Baseball Coach of Elyria High School. The Elyria Board of Education approved the appointment at the regular school board meeting tonight.
Connell graduated from Elyria High School in 2014 where he earned varsity letters in baseball and football.
He brings years of coaching experience to the position, most recently at Elyria Catholic High School (football coach), and Elyria High School, where in 2021-2022 he served as an Assistant Baseball Coach.
Connell is currently studying Sports Administration.
“We are looking forward to Coach Connell leading our team,” Athletic Director Heather Beck said. “He was well-received by the players last year as an Assistant Coach. He brings great experience and knowledge to the program.”
Connell has two children and resides in North Ridgeville.
In addition to Connell’s hire, the Board approved athletic contracts for Roger Engle, Assistant Baseball Coach, Max Peyton, Assistant Baseball Coach (Elyria High School Alumni,) Mark Osborne, Volunteer Assistant Baseball Coach, and Dakota Rodriguez, Volunteer Assistant Baseball Coach (Elyria High School Alumni.)
