Superintendent Schloss Announces Plans to Retire Jan. 1, 2027
At the Elyria Board of Education’s regular meeting on June 10, 2026, Superintendent Ann Schloss shared her intention to retire at the end of the year, effective Jan. 1, 2027.
She provided this notice many months in advance of her final day to allow time for planning and a smooth leadership transition.
With more than 34 years dedicated to education in this district, Superintendent Schloss shared that working with students, staff, families and the community of Elyria has been the greatest joy of her professional life.
Schloss will continue serving in her role through the end of the calendar year.
