
Student Orientation Information
As we welcome students back for a new school year, we have several special orientation events to help students transition into middle school and high school. Please review the information below for your student's grade level.
Incoming Fifth Grade Students
WEB Orientation
Friday, August 14, 2026
8:00–11:00 a.m.
At your middle school
We are excited to welcome our incoming fifth-grade students to WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) Orientation!
WEB Orientation is designed to help make the transition from elementary school to middle school a positive and exciting experience. Throughout the morning, students will participate in large and small-group activities led by trained eighth-grade WEB Leaders, who will serve as mentors and guides that day, and throughout the year.
Students will receive their class schedules at the conclusion of orientation.
What to Bring
• Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
• Please travel light—do not bring backpacks or unnecessary items.
Transportation
The buses will be running for WEB orientation. Please note that bus routes for WEB Orientation are different from regular school-year routes. Families should check the PowerSchool Parent Portal for their student's transportation information for Aug. 14.
Web orientation route information will be available to view on Monday, Aug. 10.
Elyria High School Incoming Freshmen (Class of 2030) & New High School Transfer Students
First Day of School and Orientation for Freshman and New Transfers

We're excited to welcome the Class of 2030 and all new transfer students to Elyria High School!
Your first day will be dedicated to helping you get comfortable with your new school, meet classmates, learn about opportunities to get involved and prepare for a successful start to high school.
Schedule
• 7:25 a.m. – Optional breakfast in the Dining Hall
• 7:50 a.m. – Required Orientation in the Main Gym
• Get Involved! Fair
• Lunch
• Shortened class schedule
• Additional orientation activities throughout the day
• Dismissal: 2:39 p.m.
What to Bring
• Wear comfortable clothing.
• Please do not bring a purse or book bag, as students will be participating in active activities throughout the day.
Family Information Meeting & Walkabout
Tuesday, August 18
Families of incoming freshmen and transfer students are invited to attend one of two Family Information Meetings and Walkabouts at Elyria High School.
Choose the session that works best for your family:
• 8 a.m.
• 6 p.m.
Location: Performing Arts Center
Parents and guardians will receive important information about the school year and have the opportunity to become familiar with the building before the first day of school.
