Walk the halls of any school and you'll feel as though you're perusing the works of the finest gallery artists.
In March, we have the chance to really shine the light on our student artists during Youth Art Month, or YAM, as it's known.
The National Art Education Association characterizes March Youth Art Month as "a medium for recognizing skills developed through visual arts experiences unlike any other curriculum subjects, including problem solving, creativity, observation and communication."
All throughout the month of March, we at Elyria Schools are highlighting one or more student art selections a day, and we're calling it the YAM Artist of the Day.
You can follow our YAM artists on the district's Facebook/elyriacityschools page.
