Home Schooling Information

In Ohio, parents can choose to teach their child at home instead of sending them to school. To do this, the parent must notify their local school district superintendent and follow Ohio’s homeschool requirements. Once the school district receives the notification, the child is excused from regular school attendance requirements.

However, parents are still responsible for making sure their child is receiving instruction in the subjects required by Ohio law. If there is evidence that the child is not being educated in those required subjects, the family could be referred for truancy or other attendance concerns under Ohio law.

If you choose to home educate your student, please send notification forms/letters to Angel Domin. Notification forms can either be mailed to Angel Domin at 42101 Griswold Rd. Elyria, 44035 or emailed to Angel at [email protected].

After receiving notification of your intent to home educate your student, the District will confirm your request has been processed and your student is excused from regular attendance requirements. The District notification form can be found HERE.
