• Hello McKinley Families,

First, let me thank you for your support and understanding as we, as a nation and community, responded to the unexpected invasion of COVID-19 in March. I am very proud of the way our ECSD students, parents, employees, and community leaders handled the demands we were faced with to protect everyone as we continued to educate and feed our students during the most unusual of circumstances. As you know, there continues to be concerns and questions related to how schools plan to reopen in August 2020. While we are in the business of educating, our first priority is the safety of our students and our employees. Be assured, we have been working diligently on our safety protocols.

As we welcome you all back to school for 2020-2021, it goes without saying we are going to do our very best to make sure your student's learning experience is the best it can be. This is truly an uncharted path ahead that will require a lot of communication and I ask that all families update their information in the Elyria Parent/Student Portal. As the district and staff continue to work together to finalize a complete plan for the start of the year, we will continue to release updates as soon as they become available. Our dedicated staff, teachers, and everyone who serves our community will do everything it can to make sure the learning at McKinley Elementary School meets the expectations of our families.

Below you will find several links to important information that will help you understand the start of the year as well as provide resources for you to be more prepared in helping your child during this Blended Learning start. We hope that we can continue to serve you and our Elyria community with the best quality of education.

Please make sure to follow us on all of our social media channels to stay informed of everything that is happening at McKinley.
