As news of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) continues to evolve, the Elyria City School District is working diligently to keep students, staff and the community up-to-date on the most recent developments.
Lorain County Public Health continues to emphasize the importance of taking general safety precautions to ensure good hygiene and to prevent the spread of germs.
Hand-washing for at least 20 seconds with soap and water will always be the most effective method of keeping yourself healthy and avoiding the spread of germs. Other steps you can take: avoid contact with people who are sick; cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing; stay home if you're sick (check out this Stay or Go Guide); clean and sanitize your home and personal items regularly.
Elyria Schools administrators remain in close contact with the health department. Be sure to check out Lorain County Public Health for more tips, information and continuing developments on these public health matters.
There's also an excellent video on illness prevention by Dr. Amy Acton, Director of the Ohio Department of Health. The video is located on the Ohio.gov website at the Ohio Department of Health.
