Welcome to the Elyria City School District!
The Communications Department is your place to learn about the many fantastic people, programs and prospects awaiting you and your children in the Elyria Schools.
It's our job to make Elyria Schools accessible to you.
We share the good work of our district in many ways.
VIDEO
You've heard the expression, "a picture is worth a thousand words." Well, the impact of video is priceless and enduring.
We enjoy visiting our schools, meeting our students and staff and capturing their stories and events to share with you on Elyria Schools PioneerTV on YouTube and on the Elyria Schools Education Station, Channel 1022 on Spectrum cable.

The Pioneer Press is an eight page newspaper that's created in house and delivered through the U.S. Post Office four times per year to all residences in Elyria. If you're new to the area or if you've missed an issue or two, you can find them archived on this site.
The Communications Department also works closely with The Elyria Chronicle Telegram, The Morning Journal, 930AM WEOL radio, and WOBL/WDLW AM and FM radio to bring timely school news and important educational matters to the public.
INTERNET
Welcome to the NEW website of Elyria Schools!
If you are reading this column then you are already enjoying the district's online presence.
In designing this website, we sought a user-friendly format for finding important school information.
We appreciate your patience as we continue refining this site.
SOCIAL MEDIA
We're on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter! Please find us and follow us for all the latest on Elyria Schools.
We also produce an online newsletter called "Pioneer News" that is readily accessible on our social media sites and website.
INSTANT NOTIFICATION
The Communications and Marketing Department delivers critical and timely information to students, parents and staff through an instant notification system. This system is essential for communicating school closures and other important information.
We regularly send text updates to parents, as well, but to receive them, parents and caregivers must "opt in" by sending a text message of "Y" or "Yes" to the Elyria Schools short code number at 67587.
Just as simple, you can opt out at any time by replying to one of our messages with “Stop.”
The Elyria Schools Communications Department has been recognized by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for award-winning work in school communications. NSPRA's mission is "to advance education through responsible public relations and communication that leads to success for all students."
It is truly our pleasure to serve the children and families of Elyria Schools. We enjoy hearing from you and encourage you to contact us with questions, concerns or comments about Elyria Schools. Please call us at (440) 284-8203 or email [email protected]
