Voting is an important responsibility every citizen shares. Registering to vote is easy and free!

What are the requirements to register to vote?

  • You must be a citizen of the United States
  • You must be a resident of Ohio for at least 30 days immediately before the impending election
  • You must be at least 18 years old on or before the day of the next general election
  • You must not be incarcerated (in jail or in prison) for a felony conviction
  • You must not be found incompetent by a court for purposes of voting by a probate court
  • You must not be permanently disenfranchised for violations of election laws

What will I need to register?

To register with a paper application, download and print the information and return to your county's Board of Elections office.

What information do I need to provide to register?

You will need a form of identification, (like a driver’s license or paycheck,) address, and the last four digits of your Social Security number.

When will I need to register?

In Ohio, you must register to vote no later than 30 days before an election.
