The Elyria Board of Education appointed a new Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer during a special meeting held Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022.

Colleen Aholt comes to Elyria Schools from Brooklyn City School District, where she served as Treasurer. She replaces Joy Clickenger, who has served Elyria Schools as Treasurer for six years, and is retiring.

Prior to working in Brooklyn, Aholt served more than six years as an Assistant Treasurer with the Polaris Career Center. She has more than 15 years of experience in governmental accounting. Her career began in the Auditor of State’s Office where she prepared financial reports for school districts, cities and counties.

Aholt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University. She earned her Treasurer’s License in 2015. Aholt resides in Seven Hills.
