The new Varsity Head Football Coach of the Elyria Pioneers is Brian Fox.
The Elyria Board of Education approved his appointment at a special school board meeting held this morning.
Fox is a known entity in Elyria. He has been at the helm of the Elyria Catholic High School football program since 2018, going 46-10 over five seasons as the Varsity Head Coach, and earning top accolades at the county and state levels for his coaching prowess.
Fox graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Physical Therapy and a minor in Athletic Coaching. He earned a Master’s Degree in Sport and Health Sciences from American Public University, and he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Before tackling high school sports, Fox coached at the collegiate level. He was the Pass Game Coordinator, Quarterbacks Coach, and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Heidelberg University in 2016-2017.
Before Heidelberg, Fox held the roles of Offensive Skill Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at Illinois College.
“Brian has great experience at all levels of the game and his energy and enthusiasm are boundless,” said Heather Beck, Elyria High School Athletic Director. “He builds strong relationships with his players and that’s essential to any coach’s success story. We are elated with Brian’s decision to head up our football program and look forward to welcoming him to the Pioneers.”
